Inter Cricket has been developed by the ECB in partnership with NatWest to introduce youngsters to a new form of cricket and increase participation in schools with a game that skilfully bridges the gap between soft ball Kwik cricket and the traditional hard ball game.
Inter Cricket, which is designed for boys and girls between 11 and 16 years old, has its own special equipment, including lightweight bats and rubberised balls, so it can be played on any surface, both indoors and outdoors, at cricket clubs, secondary schools and local parks across the country.
"This is an all-action game that you can play anywhere with your friends," says England's Ashes-winning wicketkeeper Geraint Jones. "It doesn't have to be on grass, it could be in the school playground or even in your own backyard and you can get a taste of what it's like to play in The NatWest Series by getting to grips with a white ball, just like England's One-Day squad."
